1. Install mysql & php features as following :

# yum install mysql-server php-common php-cli php php-pdo php-bcmath php-ldap php-devel php-gd php-xml php-mbstring php-mysql php-dba

* mysql will be install automatically

2. Update php & mysql :

# wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm
# wget http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-5.rpm
# rpm -Uvh remi-release-5*.rpm epel-release-5*.rpm

# yum --enablerepo=remi update php php-* mysql mysql-*

3. Restart your apache server
# /etc/init.d/httpd restart

4. Check the version of php & mysql

# php -v
# mysql -V

5. You can create a page to show php information as following :

外国語の文字を見て、吐きそうなった

日本へ来る前に、僕は日本人のことが尊敬していた。自分のイメージの中の日本人は自分の国の文化を愛し、他人にやさしくする人々だと思っていた。しかし、10年間近く日本に住んでいて、日本人の恐ろしいところを見てとても怖く感じる。そして、最近以下のような発言を耳に入った。

「外国語の文字を見て、吐きそうなった。」

って、日本人にとっては日本の文字をどう思っているかと僕はここに聞きたい？

僕は日本の文字こそキモイって感じる。日本の文字は中国の漢字、韓国のハングルのように１種類でできるんじゃないし、アラビア・インド文字など虫のように見えないけど、バラバラの3種類の文字の組み合わせでできた文字であるから、日本語が分からない人にとって3ヶ国の文字だと思ってしまうかもしれない。だから、他国の文字をバカにする前にちゃんと自分の国の文字を見てから発言した方が良いと思っている。

Configure Ruby, Apache, MySQL for Windows XP

For beginner who wants to configure Ruby, Apache, and MySQL in Windows XP environment

1.Install Ruby, Apache and MySQL for you Windows XP
in my case, I installed Apache and Ruby under D:\Web/\folder, MySQL under default folder(C:\Program Files\MySQL)

2.put ruby compiler in environment path
start=>My Computer=>Property=>Advanced=>Environment Variable=>System Environment Variable=>Click on Path=>Add D:\Web\ruby\bin (this is in my case i install ruby under D:\Web folder)

3.configure Ruby and MySQL
visit http://tmtm.org/ruby/mysql/ download ruby-mysql-0.2.6.tar.gz or higher version. Then put it under you Ruby folder D:\Web\ruby\ruby-mysql-0.2.6
Enter ruby-mysql-0.26 and type
>D:\Web\ruby\ruby-mysql-0.2.6>ruby test.rb localhost root rootPassword
if the program can connect the code of ruby to your MySQL i will show as below
connect.........................ok
create_db.....................ok
create_table.................ok
insert.............................ok
select.............................ok
update...........................ok
drop_table....................ok
drop_db........................ok
close...............................ok

After complete the test, rub install.rb as below
>D:\Web\ruby\ruby-mysql-0.2.6>ruby install.rb

4.Configure Ruby and Apache
go to the folder you have installed Apache (in my case D:\Web\Apache2.2) and enter conf folder
the path is : D:\Web\Apache2.2\conf
Then use text editor opens a file call httpd.conf and edit it as below

#AddHandler cgi-script .cgi => AddHandler cgi-script .cgi .rb

5.restart Apache server

6.place test.html in D:\Web\Apache2.2\htdocs
Note: D:\Web\Apache2.2\htdocs folder is a (default) folder where you need to put you html file.

7.Place cgi or rb file
place ruby.cgi or ruby.rb in D:\Web\Apache2.2\cgi-bin
Note1: D:\Web\Apache2.2\cgi-bin folder is a (default) folder where you need to put you cgi or rb file.
Note2: don`t forget to change "￥"=>"\" as well as Japanese characters

8. Test Program
Start your web browser and type http://localhost/test/test.html in browser address bar

Do you like to analysis yourself ? To get to know what kind of person are you ? If you do. I recommend you to use "egogram". egogram is an analysis which was created by John M. Dusay based on Transactional analysis. Infect, last week, I just tried with "egogram" too to find out who I am. And what should I do to control my temper. There are 2 main advantages of using "egogram". The first advantage is "Find out what kind of person you are". And the second one is "Learn to analysis and corresponds to people around you and yourself".

1.Finding out what kind of person you are

If you are interested in "egogram", you might ask "What should I do to analysis myself ?". It is easy. Because you can do so by just answering some questions. After calculation, score will show what kind of person you are.
"egogram" separates a person into 5 categories. They are CP, NP, A, FC, AC. And can be described by the following keywords :

+CP(Critical Parent) : strong ideal, responsibility, and sense of duty.
+NP(Natural Parent) : sympathy, reception, protection, relief
+A(Adult) : rationality, logicality, objectivity, calculation
+FC(Free Child) : emotional display, originality, aggressiveness
+AC(Adapted Child) : adaptability, sense of cooperation, dependence, stress disorder, autonomy

2.corresponding to people around you and yourself

The other advantage of using "egogram" is you will know the way to analysis people. Then find out the ways to corresponds to people. "egogram" also tell you what is your week point and how to release yourself difficult situation.

Through the above advantages, finding out what kind of person you are and corresponding to people around you and yourself, I can say that "egogram" is a good analysis tool for you. If you are interested, you can try it in the following web site.

English is a language that most of people in the world use it as protocol language to communicate with each other. I did use it too in the past. But after coming to Japan, a deverlop country where most of the people here afraid of learning English, I don't have any chances to practise my English anymore.
Today, I got a phone call from my old friend, one of friends who came to Japan with me, we discussed about lot of things relate to our living environment, as well as the English study. After our talk, I am thinking of re-deverlop my English from today.

Are you using firefox web browser ? If you do, you might be able to use the firefox add on that I will introduce to you today. It calls "IE Tab". Due to its description, IE Tab is tool that allow you to open a page in IE with just one click the IE switch in Firefox Browser and switch back to Firefox.
But what is the advantage of this add on ? I'm using this add on for opening Khmer news page. For some Khmer web sites such as everyday or kohsantepheap daily which are created using old Khmer font, Limon, Firefox won't support properly since IE does. Let's try with this add on at

8月ごろ、僕は友達と一緒に花火大会を見に行った。その行く途中の電車内、僕らは差別の目に遭った。
今年の夏休みの間に、僕は同じ研究室の友達と一緒に電車で花火大会を見に行った。当時電車内で、大きい声でしゃべる高校生が居ったり、若者の笑い声も聞こえたりしてとてもうるさかった。僕らも普通の声でいろいろしゃべっていた。突然、僕らに向かって、
「うるせぇんだよ。」
「何で？。。。」と僕はまだ言い終わってないのに
「うるせぇんだよ、お前ら。」と言い出したら、電車を降りた。
日本語が分からない友達は「僕らは何か間違った」と表情は変わって、皆がっかりした。僕はとても怒っているけど、やはり外国人は日本人と喧嘩するのはデメリットだと思った。

そのことから、僕は日本人に対するイメージは少し変わった。「日本人はなぜ外国人を不平等に扱うのか？」電車で僕らより何倍も大きい声でしゃべる日本人がいっぱい居ったのに、なぜ僕らはそういう目に遭わなければならなかったのか？

It`s been 1 week that I`ve come back to Nagano, but can you guess where I am staying ? I`m in hotel now. Because I cann`t find a new apartment since lot of Japanese people don`t like to rent their house to foreigner.

Last sunday, my 5th day in house rental agency shop, I spent nearly 4 hours to find an apartment. We found nearly 10 apartments, but most of the house owner refused to rent their house when they know I am foreigner. Sometime i felt i like a bagger who is hated by people and escape when they see me. But when i almost gave up, i luckily found an apartment. So i quickly made a contract with the owner and plan to move into that apartment on 11th.

I feel very tired and start hating Japanese people`s national isolation thought. It is very important for Japanese people to protect their culture. But being a people of a deverlop country, Japanese should be an open-minded people and be friendly with other nation.

It`d been 3 monthes for my skill training in Tokyo. I finally understood what call Team-Work (in English it might be Team Play). But i found myself can not get on well with Japanese people. Some time, i feel i was fourced to do something i did not want. "Why ?" I sometime asked myself and also want to punch those who fource me. But everytime i thought about this I keeped my temper and pretented not to talk to them.

Today, the training has finished. It sounds happy that i won`t be fource again. But my training story still finish yet. `cause i have to take another training course in Nagano, the place i use to live when i was in university, for another 3 monthes. I`m always feel anxious `cause I am not sure that i would be fouced to do thing I dislike again or not but i will try all my best to join Japanese people team. HOPE I WILL SUCCESS THIS TIME and also hope THEY WILL ACCEPT ME as one of their groupmate , Japanese people always divide group automatically, since now I am not belong to any group.

床前明月光，疑是地上霜 : Look at the light of the moon comes through the window shining on my bed, I confuse it is the frost of the autumn.

举头望明月，低头思故乡 : Look up to the sky the moon is shining. I wonder how is my hometown.

This poem was create by a Chinese famous poet Li Bai to show his sadness and loneliness to his family. From this poem, we can also know that it was created in autumn and might be during the Chinese Moon festival (Chinese calendar 15th August = International calendar October). Just like Cambodian tradition, Chinese people like to use the full moon represent to a family with all members together. So when people see the full moon, they start thinking about their family.

If I ask you "Do you think IT is important ?" Your answer will be "Yes, sure". I`ll do too. And because I thought it was important, I started to think of learning it when the time I stepped into Japan even most people around me ignored what I had decided. Some of people even told me that what i did will effect other scholarship students. Some who learning IT at that time felt proud of themselves and look down on me. I first felt disappointed and hopeless but because i really wanted to learn and know what IT is. I tried all my best to improve my IT knowledge myself. And finally I passed a year 3 transfer examination.

But do you know what, when i started my IT life and learn IT in Shinshu University. I felt IT was not as wonderful as what people shown off in front of me. I think what the above people told me is just something stupid, something which told me that those people were just like a frog(?) in the well. Because i think that IT is a an extra tool to help people work faster, better qualify. So people can do their job without IT`s help as in the past.

Do you know what is leadership adventure ? It is a game which was created by USA in 1971 called Project Adventure. Base on this program, in 1995 Japan also started a program call Leadership Adventure.

Most of the companies in Japan want their new employees take this course. Because those companies believe that it will strengthen new employees` experience of being a leader, a good team play, and following up each others. And for me, on 1st May, I am going to join this program with another 160 new employees. I feel a bit anxious `cos I`m not good at playing sport, and this is also my first time to join such an adventure.

飲み会

昨日、研修が終了した後、僕らは先輩社員と一緒に飲み会に行った。先輩は初めて僕に会った時、外国人と知らなかった（-_-）僕の顔は日本人っぽいかなぁ～。しかし、先輩としゃべり始めたら、”お前は日本語がうめぇね。中国人？”って言われた。ちょっと嬉しかったけど、外国人として扱うのはちょっと嫌だった。そして、何で俺はいつも中国人って間違えられるのか？まぁ～ま、俺は中国系カンボジア人だから、ショウガネェ！
その後、友達にもう一軒へ行くって誘われたけど、俺は酒に弱いから断った。電車に乗っている時、吐きそうになったけど、何とか我慢できた。ハ～飲み会は楽しかったけど、酒がたくさん入ると苦しくなった。

New life in Tokyo

After graduated in the end of March, I started my new life as a SE (System Engineer) in a small company of Nagano Province from 1st April. My job is not hard any more, because I am a new comer but what make me feel tired is "Weak up in the early morning". At first, I didn`t feel well as I used to sleep from 2am til 12am when i was a university student.

It`s been 3 weeks that I have "working(?) in this company". I should use the word "studying" `cause i didn`t even do anything beside taking some courses with the other 19 Japanese new comers. Last week, we were transferred to Tokyo to join the training with another 4 companies (My company is one of the group companies). And I finally came back to Tokyo again.

"Life in Tokyo is funny" this is what I had always thought from the time I leave Tokyo to study in Nagano Province. But this time, I don`t feel here is such funny. As a company emplyee, I don`t have as much time as when i was a student. Another one is it might be because life is too busy, people act like robot. Difference from people in Nagano Province who are sincer, here people don`t have time to care for the other.

この二週間のカンボジアの滞在の間に、いろいろな友達と遊びに行ったり、親にもマーケットの手伝いをしたりした。ちょっと、疲れたけど楽しかった。しかし、こんなに楽しい時間はいつも短いって感じる。僕は１６日の夜１２時ごろ、日本に戻ることになっている。カンボジアを愛しているけど、やるべきことは日本にあるから、戻らなければならない。また、皆とブログや日本のあっちこっちに会えると心から待っている。

Hey!Everyone, It's been long time that i have not updated as well as contacted with all you guys. I am a little bit feel lonely when visit this blog. Anyway, how all you guys doing ? I am pretty good here, P.P Cambodia, my homeland.

During my stay in Cambodia this 2 weeks, I have met lots of friends as well as helping parrents do their business. For me, it was a little bit tired but I am happy to met them. Thesis Presentation Finished

Today is the day that i made a presentation of the result of my research, I was very scare and felt ashame when steading in front of people and explain my my research result using their language. But finally, I did it with full of confident. Now everything is gonna be alright and soon I will finish the life in university and start a new on in IT company, doing make I like what I was waiting for years.

Anyway, I will visit Cambodia during 3rd March till 17th March and join the gratuate ceremony wich will be held on 22nd March.

Khmer history book by Zhou Daguan

Zhou Daguan (roughly pronounced : Joe Da-gwan)is known by most Cambodia people as he recorded his daily life during his stay at Angkor between year 1296 and 1297. The book described the acient time of Cambodia, The Customs of Cambodia (真臘風土記) during his in the Khmer Empire period. It was then translated into Franch, English, Japanese, and other languages include Khmer Language.

Since I know some Chinese friends in my Lab. I asked one of them to buy that book, 真臘風土記 , for me when she visited China in Chinese new year.

If I'm not confuse Microsoft, last month, released its new OS (Operating System) beta version, Windows 7, which is the next generation of Windows Vista. Due to some IT news reported there were lots of users download the beta version of Windows 7 after it was released for free download. And I am also one of those. For me, Windows 7 is completely the same as Windows Vista for its user interface but the difference is it run much faster, more security than Windows Vista. Windows Vista which was developed by Microsoft on purpose of challengign the GUI(Graphic User Interface) with Mac OS X has made its users feel hopeless since there are lot of errors occured.

Today, I watched Japanese Drama which was copied from my friend in the same Lab. In face, this was my first time watch Japanese Drama even I've been here for nearly 5 years. Because I thought it was not interested anymore. In the Drama, there was a scene shew an actor who is very happy because of receiving his first part time job salary. And that reminded me my first part time job salary.

Not in Japan, for me i had started working part time job when i was in Cambodia. Because of knowing lots of languages, I started working as a teacher of Chinese language. Unfortunately, everything was completely different from what i had thought. Many students had gave up learning when they found it was hard to learn pronoun Chinese with up and down torn. As a result I just teached my students for only 1 month then i quited as well. And because of this problem I got only $7 from my first part time.

It was so little money, but i was happy because I just wanted to share and pratice what i know, to get more experience for my life.

What means to you the 7th January ?

Hun Sen : one who doesn't obey the 7th January, one is not human being

Some people say that it was the day that rescues all Khmer people from the Khmer Rouge genocidal region. And we can say that day gave a new birth(2nd birth) for all Cambodian People. Different from the above idea, some people has another point of view that the 7th January 1979 is the day that Vietnam has succeed its ambition to control Cambodia.

In order you are a reader how do you think about those 2 ideas ?
From my point of view, I respect 7th January. If there was no 7th January 1979, I as well as you, young generation Cambodian, won't be here to write or reader this blog. But what makes me feel hopeless is the Cambodia politicians, Cambodia People Party (CPP) politicians, always use this day just to gain its power. And it's been 30 years that the CPP control Cambodia, a place where is said a developing country but in fact it isn't.

So do you think is it the time that we should get rid of 7th January because we have scarified enough for a group of people ? I think so

*Teochew Chinese is a Chinese local language and it is derived from Hokeng Chinese or Taiwan Chinese. As a result, Teochew Chinese is very similar to Hokeng Chinese or Taiwan Chinese.

Program of year-end meeting of CSAJ in Tokyo

Cambodia Student Association in Japan (CSAJ)

CSAJ is the shortcut name of Cambodia Student Association in Japan (在日カンボジア留学生協会). To make all the government scholarship students as well as private students can share ideas and help each other when some problems happen around Cambodia students. This association always create chance for people to get to know each other such as New Year party, Spring party, Culture party, ...Year-end-meeting is also one of those parties. And this year CSAJ decided to help it on 21 of Dec (Sunday).

For me, it's a little bit hard to go there since i don't have money to support the Shinkansen (新幹線), the fastest train in Japan, i decide to take the bus which will take me around 4 hours. Because I'm going to work next year so no longer to be able to join Cambodian students parties in student status. Hope to see every one there (^_^)

何日前に、僕はテレビである放送を気づいた。それは内定者の取り消しのニュースだった。現在の世界の経済が悪化になっているため、会社側は来年の4月から入社する予定新卒学生に対して、取り消しことが行っている。そして、今まで全体の内定者の中に380人が取り消されてしまった。

僕はその翌日、インターネットで内定者の取り消しのとこを検索して、補償金のことにびっくりした。なんと、ある会社が取り消された新卒に対する補償金がわずか30万円で支払った。それはちょっとひどくないか。今頃、就活時期と大学院の試験もほとんど終わっているので、内定取り消された新卒生は再就職または大学院へ行くのはとても困難だ。

僕はそのニューを見て、自分のことも心配している。なぜならば、日本人と違って外国人である僕はもし取り消されたら、ビザを更新できなくなる。もし、そういうことは本当に僕に起きたら、僕はもうお終いだ。今僕は出来ることは神様に祈りしかない。そして、自分でも研究に力を入り、卒業できるように頑張り続ける。

If one wants to pass this test who must score Morning test >= 600 score && Afternoon test >= 600 score

This test was not difficult for me because it was just a Basic level. But sine i visited Cambodia & Australia in this summer holiday, I did not have enough time to study as well as prepare for the test (＾◇＾;) Next April I'm gonna take it again before start my work in company.

(T_T) the company wants me to take this test until i pass it otherwise i won't get a higher salary ('cause company provides an extra salary for people who have the IT certificate)

life vs work

Some people say if you want to live happily you have to (make money by) work hard. Do you think it's truth ? Some people might ask : "How about the king or some people who were born in family ? They never work but they have a good life ?" It's because they receive the inheritance from their parents or their grand parents or so on. And their grand parents or parents did also work very hard to award those property.

For me, I agree with the phrase above. Why ?If you've never live in a separate life from your parents or family, you may not understand what i will tell you.

I still remember the day i came to start a new life here. It was very happy then feel lonely. But here i'd never worried about something call "Money". Because the money came into my bank account every month. i was full of happiness but those days was not long. After my government scholarship program had finished, it is time for me to pay everything by myself. From that time, i understood that life = work.

I work part time job almost everyday to earn enough money for my school fee. That is what i must do as a part of my life. Some people might say me that "I can ask for money from parents in Cambodia" but if you were me, would you do so ? I won't because I am not teenager. I am big enough to make money by myself. Because I think "Life" is not perfect, so you should learn to accept something call "Hard". If you can not and just always ask for help from your parents, you're still a kid.

あなたは”差別”って分かる？日本に住んでいる僕は周りの人また、ニュースでも差別、この言葉はよく使うから、意味が大体分かったような気がした。でもこういう社会でも差別があるのは本当に信じられなかったです。僕はその言葉の意味が分かるように、日本のYahooの辞書に検索した。

差別：
　　１．あるものと別のあるものとの間に認められる違い。また、それに従って区別すること。「両者の―を明らかにする」
　　２．取り扱いに差をつけること。特に、他よりも不当に低く取り扱うこと。

以上の意味を見たら、僕はちょっとがっかりした。なぜならば、実は僕にも差別されたことがあるようだったからだ。

2004年、日本へ来た僕は初めて1人生活が始まった。その時、毎日の服装はカンボジアから持ってきたものだった。ある日、学校へ行く途中の電車で、ある会社員のように見える日本人にずっと見られた。僕は最初はその人に気にしなかったけど、ずっと頭から足元までを見られたのは本当に嫌になった。僕は犯罪のことをしてないし、もし何か間違ったことがあっても、ちゃんと教えてくれればいいじゃん、ずっと見ていたのは本当に失礼で、我慢できなかった。その人に聞こうと思ったけど、聞いてみたら面倒くさいことになるかもしれなかったから、やめておいた。でも、彼はなぜずっと僕を見ていたかと、自分の中にいろいろ考えていた。もしかして、それは差別じゃないか。そして、僕もずっとその人を見ていた。目と目を合わせた時、その人は僕を見なくなった。

以上のことから、僕は差別って感じ、日本人に対する考え方はちょっと変わった。そして、今まで5年間ぐらい日本に住んでいて、日本人は外国人、特に日本人と同じ黄色皮膚のアジア人に対する態度はなんとなく分かった。それだけではなく、同じ日本人にも差別な行為を受けられた人がいっぱい居る。でも最も理解できないのは、日本は発展の国として知られていて、国民はちゃんと教育を受けたのに、なぜ差別行為をなくすことはできないのか？多分第2次世界大戦以来、日本は発展な道へ進んでいくため、日本の社会の格差もだんだん広がっていた。そのため、一部の人たちが他人は自分より低いレベルの人だと思うようになり、知らないうちに差別行為が当たり前ように感じた。また、その差別は普通だと思っているその人たちは親になって、自分の子供にきちんと教えていないため、子供が学校のいじめを簡単に起こしたんじゃないかと思っている。

Microsoft、無料のマルウェア対策製品「Morro」を計画

米Microsoftは11月18日、コンシューマー向けに無料のセキュリティ製品を提供する計画を発表した。

　この製品は「Morro」のコードネームで呼ばれ、ウイルス、スパイウェア、rootkit、トロイの木馬などのマルウェアへの対策を提供する。処理能力が低めの小型PCを考慮に入れ、システムリソースの消費を抑えた設計になるという。

　Morroは、現行のMicrosoftのセキュリティ製品で使われているのと同じマルウェア対策技術を採用する。これまで同社はコンシューマー向けセキュリティサービス「Windows Live OneCare」でプリンタ共有などの非セキュリティ機能も提供していたが、Morroではマルウェア対策に特化する。

　Morroのリリースは2009年後半の予定。Windows XP、Vista、7向けにダウンロード提供する。これに合わせて、「Windows Live OneCare」の小売り販売を2009年6月30日に打ち切り、直販はMorroリリース後段階的に終了する。現在OneCareサービスに加入しているユーザーは、Morro公開まで利用を続けられる。

Restore Bayon Temple With Computer Graphic

To protect the ruins of the world, The department of Information Technology of Tokyo University has created a new technology which scan all the data of those world heritage and restore them using computer graphic technology.

The video above shows you the Bayon temple, one of the temple in the Angkor world heritage area, using the computer graphic technology. So in the future, even if the temple might crash down or be destroyed, due to the computer data scanned from the Bayon temple, we might be able to restore this temple again.

今朝、起きた時普段と同じく音楽を聴きたいので、パソコンを起動した。そして、Explorerで音楽をドラッグした時、あるフォルダを見た。それは写真のフォルダだった。それを開くと、2004年僕ら日本へ来たばかりの写真があって、過去を思い出した。あの時初めて親に元に離れた僕らは、ちょっとつらかったかもしれなかったけど、先輩たちと一緒に居てとても楽しかった。でも、今の僕らは前のように一緒に集まるのはとても大変だ。皆はもう既に自分が選んだ道を歩いていて、日本のあちこちに居るからだ。いつか再会できれば、いいなと思っている。
